Effects of Limestone Powder on Self-compacting Concrete Properties

نویسندگان

چکیده

Powder type of self-compacting concrete (SCC) needs high cement content to achieve self-compactibility, this will be undesirable in tropical climate Sudan due implication hydration heat. This paper investigates reducing up 340 Kg/m3 by blending limestone powder (LSP) 15 % as replacement weight. Therefore, fifteen mixes having maximum (P) 400 have been carried out with four water/powder ratios (W/P) (0.35, 0.4, 0.43 and 0.45). Fresh properties compressive strength SCC were measured. Results show most the achieved self-compactibility fresh stages. However, has reduced increased level LSP replacing cement. reduction is caused dilution effect adds LSP.

Properties of Self-compacting Concrete – an Overview

Self-compacting concrete can be defined as the concrete which requires no vibrations and can flow around obstructions, encloses the reinforcement and fills up the formwork completely under its self weight. Over the last ten years, significant amount of work has been carried out on self-compacting concrete all over the world. In countries like Japan, Sweden, Thailand, UK etc., the knowledge of S...

Effect of Mineral Admixture on Properties of Self Compacting Concrete

In this study, the benefits of limestone powder (LP) and marble powder (MP) as partial replacement of Portland cement are established. Furthermore, LP and MP are used directly without attempting any additional processing in the production of selfcompacting concrete (SCC). The water to binder ratio is maintained at 0.33 for all mixtures. The examined properties include workability, compressive s...

Controlling Fresh Properties of Self-Compacting Concrete Containing Waste Glass Powder and its Influence on Strength and Permeability

Adjustment of superplasticizer (SP) dosage is one of the main factors in proportioning of self-compacting concrete (SCC) mixtures. The quantity of SP has to be within certain limits to avoid segregation or bleeding, which otherwise could alter the microstructure of concrete and affect its performance in the longer-term. Since SCC is produced with high cement content, some issues, such as high c...
